Get to Know Callier and Thompson

Carolyn Beard Q&A

Carolyn Beard

How would you describe your role on the Callier and Thompson team?

I am one of the owners and I also still do design work. Wearing the owners’ hat, I get all the permits, handle advertising and the showroom. I work with a few builders and referrals on kitchen & bath design.

Share with us one unusual thing many people may not know about you?

I can’t resist a good rope swing! Sometimes I think I’m twelve again!

What is one piece of advice or statement you want to make about the kitchen and bath industry (or remodeling)?

Don’t pick out everything for your kitchen or bath remodel and expect to get a price. That will only lead to frustration when the pricing comes back.  Instead, be open with your budget and have a designer help steer you toward products that will fit that budget. You may still need to make adjustments, but your designer will help you choose which items can be modified to make it all work.

What do you like most about working for Callier and Thompson Kitchens, Baths, Appliances?

We have a fantastic team! Every single person gives their all to make our customers happy. If something comes up, we work together to try to find solutions.

Where did you grow up?

Dellwood, MO!

What motivates you to work hard day in and day out?

We all work hard and it is so worth it when our customers love the final outcome of their project.

What’s the most daring thing you’ve ever done?

I used to love to cliff dive. About 35 feet was my max but when you are a teenager and the guys think they are pretty cool for jumping off and then you show them up with a dive it’s pretty fun. Now I think about all the injuries that could happen!

Do you have family or pets?

I have a husband and two grown daughters – one married and one soon to be married. No grandchildren yet

What do you do for fun in your spare time?

We are at Lake of the Ozarks almost every weekend during the summer. We love boating and swimming and our kids actually want to hang with us!

How long have your been in the kitchen and bath industry?

I started in the industry in early 2002.

If you have to sing Karaoke, what song do you pick?

Luke Combs – When it Rains it Pours

Are you a cat person or dog person?
