Our Step-by-Step Guide to a Seamless Kitchen and Bath Remodel
Remodeling is an incredible opportunity to transform your house into a home that better reflects your lifestyle and personal taste. At Callier & Thompson, we understand that modern renovation requires more than great design—it requires a transparent, structured process that ensures both peace of mind and stunning results.
Far too often, we hear stories of contractors being vague in their communication or homeowners feeling “sold” on an outcome that never measures up, or exceeds their budget without approval, or the quality of work falls well below expectations. You deserve so much more!
We invite your questions; we appreciate your scrutiny, and we encourage potential clients to conduct their own due diligence. Here’s how we guide our clients through every stage of the journey.
Step 1: Exploring the Possibilities
Your experience begins in our showroom, where you’ll be introduced to the wide range of cabinetry, finishes, and design styles we offer. This step is where ideas begin to evolve into a plan. We’ll discuss your goals, walk you through our process, and answer any questions you may have, so you know exactly what to expect. Our goal is to establish trust and provide clarity from the outset.
Step 2: In-Home Consultation
Next, we visit your home to understand the space itself. During our consultation, we take precise measurements, document existing conditions, and discuss how you regularly use the room(s). Understanding how you live in these areas helps us design a space that not only looks exceptional but also functions beautifully, supporting your household’s lifestyle.
Step 3: Initial Design & Budget Review
With that information in hand, we invite you back to our showroom for the first look at your preliminary design. Here, we also provide a budget range based on historical project data and your design priorities. This phase allows us to have a thoughtful discussion about investment, timeline, and next steps. If you’re ready to move forward, a design retainer secures your place in our schedule.
Step 4: Finalizing the Design Details
Now the vision takes shape. Working closely with your designer, you’ll select cabinetry, countertops, tile, fixtures, and finishes—every detail that reflects your style and enhances the overall design. Multiple showroom sessions are common to refine selections and ensure the layout, materials, and budget align.
Step 5: Project Team Introduction & Scope Review
Before construction begins, you’ll meet the project manager and hand-picked subcontractors who will bring your remodel to life. We review the full scope of work in your home, finalize pricing based on your selections, and present material options that strike a balance between beauty and value. This step ensures that everyone involved shares the same vision and expectations.
Step 6: Agreement & Project Launch
The final step is to sign the agreement and submit your material deposit. If a start date hasn’t already been set, we’ll establish one at this point. From there, your dedicated project team will manage every detail, keeping communication clear and progress on track until your new kitchen or bath is complete.
