Design and Thoughts

This kitchen is classic, yet so chic. It’s comfortable, open, bright, beautiful and warm all at the same time.

The old layout consisted of weird angles, dark cabinetry and a very large peninsula. The homeowner wanted something bright and light, but still keeping it classic and family friendly. They wanted a large pantry space and wanted to incorporate some floating shelves somewhere. A wood hood was a must along with a pot filler. They also wanted a large island to accommodate their growing family. She was pregnant at the time, so we were on a time crunch before baby arrived.

Materials Used

Shiloh Cabinets - Full beaded inset, flat panel door and drawer fronts. Maple in Arctic White on the perimeter and Alder in White Sand Stain on the island.

Quartz, Vicostone, Misteria Countertops

Thermador Appliances

Crossville Tile Backsplash - State of Grace 3x6 subway

Special Features

Other than the homeowner being a complete dream to work with, this kitchen has all of the makings of a perfect space. A walk in pantry with a beautiful glass door, a large island with a working sink for Mom to watch over her family and into the adjoining rooms. In addition to the back wall having a full 36” range to cook with, there is a second oven built into the wall next the refrigerator. This kept the walk ways open and easily accessible.  There is a nice bonus space adjacent to the breakfast room that houses a beverage refrigerator for entertaining.
