Rustic Elegance: A Bright and Inviting Kitchen

Design and Thoughts
This kitchen blends rustic and modern elements with a warm, inviting atmosphere. The white inset shaker style cabinets and quartz countertops contract beautifully with the patterned tile backsplash and the statement wooden range hood. The brick flooring adds a touch of old world charm. Natural light floods in through low set windows above the sink, enhancing the open feel. Recessed lighting and skylights ensure the space stays bright, while stainless steel appliances add a sleek touch.

Special Features
Some of my favorite aspects of this project were also the most challenging. There isn’t a single square corner in this kitchen, which led to building custom alder shelves - lovingly referred to by the homeowners as “Cole’s Corner”. Our carpenters take great pride in their work, and it shows!
Another favorite aspect is the faux brick wall. The original kitchen had an exposed brick wall that had been painted white. When we demoed the pantry in hopes of revealing more of the brick, we discovered a support post that had to stay. To conceal it, we furred out over the original brick. Since we didn’t want to lose the character the brick added to the kitchen, faux brick was the perfect solution.
