Lighten Up Whole House Refresh
Design and Thoughts
The first phase of this project started with a water leak, leading the floors to need to be replaced. We reused the existing cabinets (which we had originally installed for the homeowners in 2009) and updated the tile flooring thru the kitchen and laundry. To give a lighter look, we updated the countertops with Cambria New Quay and accented the new colors with a lighter more contemporary backsplash tile and some new under cabinet lighting. The kitchen refresh was completed with a new paint color to bring a whole new look into the room.
In the second phase, we updated the fireplace surround, installing a custom surround and mantle, along with stacked ledger stone to cover the dark existing bricks and a solid hearth stone. We replaced all of the doors, door trims and base molding thru out the home, modifying some bi-pass closet doors to French doors on all of the two door closets for easier access. With this molding refresh, we updated the handrail and balusters at the basement stairs to a style more similar to the new doors and fireplace surround. New flooring thru out the home, as well as a new coat of paint gave these clients a whole new space!

Special Features
The fireplace surround is one of my favorite details of this project. It is the focal point when walking in the front doors and feels light, bright and welcoming.
